As you can imagine, I work with an incredible crew, most of whom are women. But that was not always the case here at Good Housekeeping. In fact, for the first 109 years of the magazine’s history, all its editors in chief were men! That changed in 1994, when a woman was tapped to lead GH into the new millennium. Ironically, as more men embrace the domestic arts (most of my friends’ husbands rule the kitchen; see page 73 for our survey, “State of the American Home 2022”), we women have finally taken the helm at this iconic magazine that has helped us all with our “housekeeping” for over 135 years.
