Let’s be honest, driving a boat withajoystick seemed altogether bizarre when Hinckley Yachts introduced the JetStick a quarter-century ago. “It’s a strange sensation,” Yachting’s editor-in-chief wrote in 1998. “It is intuitive and vastly different from any other steering and control function on any production powerboat I have been on. In simple terms, the joystick handles all facets of the boat, except for the rpm. ARCADIA YACHTS A96: CROSSOVER CONCEPT Italian builder Arcadia Yachts combined its exterior-styling concept with interiors by Igor Lobanov to create the A96. The yacht has group areas and rivate hideaways, with the idea of giving owners a way to relax however they feel best. Accommodations include five staterooms for 10 uests and three cabins for five crew. The Arcadia A96 is also a tech-forward yacht, with quadruple Volvo Penta IPS1350s for propulsion and joystick steering at the helm. The yacht has solar panels that provide enough juice for the batteries to power eight or nine hours in silent mode, allowing for quiet nights on the hook in scenic, solitary anchorages. 37'5" LENGTH OVERALL 10'7" MAXIMUM BEAM THE HANOVER 377 is a Brazilian-built supersize bowrider that falls in the middle of the company’s 12-model lineup, ranging from 25 to 52 feet length overall. The 377 has a black fiberglass hardtop with forward leaning supports that accent a sleek profile, giving the boat the impression of being in motion even when it’s static. Hull sides slashed in black conceal the many windows that account for the bright interior belowdecks.
