In their wisdom, policymakers at the Department for Transport (DfT) decided to remove targets for reducing road deaths and casualties. The result? A plateau in the figures falling.
It means over the last year, there were just over 1,700 road deaths in the UK and more than 20,000 killed or seriously injured casualties. It’s a number that has fallen significantly over the past decade, but now, with improvements in tech also harder to find, progress has slowed. And, simply put, dropping the targets…
