When Hilda Jackson first stepped into her new care home, it felt daunting, but a warm welcome instantly put her at ease. At 102 years old, she was moving into Holbrook Hall Residential Home in Derbyshire. She’d lived alone since the late Fifties when her husband Walter, the love of her life, passed away.
