When describing a blackbird, the colour white is unlikely to come to mind. But a superrare white blackbird was recently spotted in a Dorset garden. Dorset Wildlife Trust says they are leucistic blackbirds and the condition is caused by a genetic mutation that makes the bird's feathers lack pigment. This is seen on just one in 30,000 birds, but it is even more rare for a blackbird to be completely white. Two otter cubs have formed a special bond after being rescued by the UK Wild Otter Trust in December 2023. Mera and Pip were raised at the rescue sanctuary after being discovered in Suffolk and Exeter, only a few weeks old. Can you feel the gentle warmth of the sun on a bright February day?
