NEWS YOU CAN USE WHEN CARING COSTS Unpaid carers are being forced to repay more than £250 million to the government, after being overpaid their allowance. If you care for someone else for at least 35 hours a week and they get certain benefits, you may be able to apply for Carer's Allowance of £81.90 a week. However, it must be repaid in full if you earn even pennies over the earnings limit, currently £151 a week after tax, National Insurance and expenses. ✪ I have recently acquired (via eBay) a vintage bottle of Soir de Paris cologne, by Bourjois. It smells divine! My first encounter with this iconic fragrance was in Amsterdam in 1986, when I strolled into a chemist and saw it on their shelves. More than 150 harvest mice have been reintroduced to Perivale Wood Nature Reserve in west London. Harvest mice were last spotted at the site in 1979 but, after becoming extinct in Ealing more than four decades ago, they are now being released across the borough as part of a project by the Ealing Wildlife Group.
