When Emma Pratley’s homebred mare Flora was diagnosed with ‘girthing syndrome’, her vet suggested acupuncture to treat it. After several treatments, Emma was amazed by the results.
“I’d known since breaking Flora in that she had a problem in her girth, saddle and shoulder area,” said Emma. “I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong, and we tried all sorts of things, but nothing worked. If I rode her bareback she would go beautifully, but as soon as a saddle was put on she would become very tense.
