HOW TO… design your bedroom for better sleep
By considering lighting, colour, temperature and noise control, you can create a space that promotes relaxation for better sleep
• Ambient lighting is key. Bright, cool lights can interfere with your body’s sleep-wake cycle – especially the blue light from screens, which disrupts melatonin production and makes it harder to fall asleep. Introduce soft, warm lighting in the evening, such as dim lamps. You could also use a smart bulb with adjustable light levels, so you can dim the light as bedtime approaches.
