“The next emergency is only ever a phone call away.” During a busy morning of consultations, we received a call about a farm kitten that had been bitten by a dog. As soon as the call finished, all hands were on deck to prepare for the kitten’s arrival. Being prepared for emergencies is vital in treating trauma patients. An oxygen tent was set up, along with cannulas, breathing tubes, heat pads, blankets, and a selection of emergency medication.
