The yacht has three social zones, starting with a seating-and-dining area at the bow (forward of the opening windshield). The cockpit can include an optional grill and ice maker, while the pilothouse has slide-open windows as well as air conditioning. SEA SCOOTERS ARE JUST PLAIN FUN. Diving and zipping through the water like a dolphin is the stuff of pure swimming, scuba-diving and snorkeling joy. On the flip side, though, some of the most popular scooters aboard superyachts can be almost 4 feet long and weigh around 70 pounds. Stowing them becomes a space-crunching chore, especially if there are already personal watercraft, tenders, kayaks, fishing gear, inflatable toys and paddleboards vying for room in the lazarette. ¶ For boaters who want their underwater fun to come in a smaller, more manageable package, China-based Geneinno makes the S2 sea scooter ($399). The bluff-bow Navetta 64 is the latest new-age trawler from Italy’s Absolute Yachts. This model’s biggest evolution from the builder’s other five Navettas is a forward-raked windshield, a feature as practical as it is stylish. The proportionally larger side windows toward the bow are now a brand signature for Absolute, creating a bold profile in concert with detailing such as the sturdy molded rail that sweeps aft to the transom from the high foredeck. ¶ For go-anywhere cruisers, the Navetta 64 has all the appropriate design elements. A hardtop protects the flybridge, whose overhang shields not only the aft deck but also the side decks. Yes, this Spirit of Tradition stunner is a new build from Lyman-Morse, which developed the design in collaboration with fellow Mainers C.W. Hood Yachts and Stephen Waring Yacht Design. Construction is wood composite, and propulsion is twin Volvo Penta IPS1350s, producing a reported top-end speed of 39 knots. Hardware is custom-made from titanium. The hull was built in four separate parts to create a more ergonomically efficient environment at the shipyard; there was a bottom module, port and starboard topsides sections, and the curved transom section. ASPEN POWER catamarans has been building asymmetrical multihulls in the 28- to 40-foot range since 2008, and the 35-foot C108 is the newest addition. Larry Graf, the company’s founder, incorporated decades’ worth of experience into the design, which is intended to support adventures such as Alaskan cruising or weekend escapes. The powercat has double-bottom hulls, watertight collision bulkheads, and foam-filled bows that are reinforced with Kevlar. If necessary, the boat can get home on a single motor. ¶ The C108’s proa-style displacement hulls have identical lengths, but the starboard hull carries 35 percent more volume than the port hull. IT ALL STARTS WITH THE reverse-raked house window, a defining trait of the Prestige Yachts X70’s look—an aesthetic from the pen of Italy-based Garroni Design—and one that separates this yacht from its siblings in the builder’s F-line and S-line. They too are Garroni designs with a raked look. Bering Yachts in Turkey is on track for an August delivery of its new Exploration series flagship, the Bering 92. All equipment was expected to be delivered about the time this issue went to press, with fairing of the hull and furniture installation already underway.
