Despite all the difficulties of developing new products and doing R&D throughout 2020, almost as many ‘world’s first’ products were presented for the DAME marine equipment design awards as ever. The awards, which are usually made at the METS trade show in November, recognise some of the best of the new products coming to market, and are considered by a panel that includes top yacht designers such as Andre Hoek and Olivier Racoupeau, designer Davide Cipriani, marine electronics specialist Ben Ellison, industrial designer Arjen Jansen and myself.
