Boatbuilder Green Marine has gone into liquidation, with the loss of 46 jobs. The well-known yard built famous high-performance racing designs and superyachts, including Alex Thomson’s latest Hugo Boss, on which he finished 2nd in the 2016-17 Vendée Globe, superyachts such as Sojana, Inouï, the iconic Stealth,and Ghost, TP52s including the groundbreakingPatches, plus IACC America’s Cup boats and many more.
Green Marine was founded in 1982 by the late Bill Green, together with Ian King. It established a reputation for building some of the world’s most innovative yachts, with over 180 boats having left its doors.
The company has been owned since 2010 by Dutch superyacht builders Vitters. Vitters announced at the time that the takeover was ‘a guarantee that the construction of impressive yachts of this kind will continue’.…
