Clive Britten navigates among the thousands of islands off the south-west corner of Finland
We set sail from Tallinn, Estonia, bound for Hanko, Finland, a passage of 60 miles in bright sunshine with 10 knots of wind on our starboard quarter. There were three of us on board Eventually, a brand new Nordbaelt 50 built by Ridas Yachts in Tallinn, the proud owners Chris and Fiona Gerard, and me, acting as navigator. We planned to sail along the south coast of Finland, then over to Sweden and all the way back to Ramsholt in Suffolk.
