Summer skin
More sun, sweat and SPF could have caused your skin to take a turn for the worse this summer. If you’ve got new dry, scaly, itchy, spotty or sensitive areas, your skin’s natural barrier, which keeps toxins out of your body, may not be working at its best. But you can give it a boost by simplifying your skincare routine. ‘Less is more when it comes to our skin as, ultimately, we want to correct and protect without damaging our delicate skin barrier,’ says consultant dermatologist Dr Malvina Cunningham at Skin + Me. ‘Support yours with barrier-boosting ingredients like glycerine, ceramides, allantoin, shea butter and hyaluronic acid.’ And don’t forget to then apply (and reapply) a good, non-greasy SPF daily.
