Just a few hours north of Winnipeg, The Narrows is a strip of Prairie Pothole Region that splits Lake Manitoba. It is much the opposite of the vast agriculture fields you will find to the south or in parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta. There are thick stands of alders, aspens and oaks interspersed with large tracts of pasture, barley, oats, canola, and in some years, wheat.
