THE SUNSMART ISSUE
Nothing says summer like going for a walk outdoors or taking your workout to the park, but along with UV exposure, the sun can also affect us in other ways. As the mercury starts to climb, those scorching Aussie temperatures can often cause problems for our bodies – dehydration being the most common risk, according to Sam Waller, fitness expert and owner of Stepz Fitness. There are also more severe risks, including heat exhaustion, which, if left untreated, can lead to heat stroke, which is a life-threatening medical emergency.
