After a long investigation, it’s been announced that Armie Hammer will not be charged following sexual assault accusations. Police began investigating the Call Me By Your Name star, 36, in 2021 after a woman, known only as Effie, alleged he had raped her, slammed her head against a wall, and subjected her to other violence.
However, now police have determined they have “insufficient evidence” to charge Hammer with a crime. “Due to the complexity of the relationship and inability to prove a non-consensual, forcible sexual encounter, we are unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” the District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
