After declaring via Twitter in 2020, “I am selling almost all physical possessions. Will own no house,” billionaire Elon Musk has delivered, selling the final piece of his property portfolio for $45 million.
The nine-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bathroom home in Hillsborough in the San Francisco Bay Area sold late last year, after he dropped the price by several million.
Built in 1912, by a French nobleman, the fairytale home features stunning water views, sprawling manicured gardens and interior walls adorned with gilded architraves, intricate murals and huge antique mirrors, as well as an opulent banquet dining room.
Parting with the 47-acre estate must have been bittersweet for the Tesla owner. It has its own motor court, huge garage, plus a stunning swimming pool, hiking trails and a custom-made pond.
