When Amanda and Ashleigh hit our screens on The Amazing Race earlier this year, viewers weren’t the only ones who underestimated them. “I think a lot of the other teams did as well,” Amanda, 29, admits to WHO. “They didn’t think that we would be a threat, or were very serious racers, or were there for one thing.”
However, the “Gold Coast Glamours” don’t think it was just their looks that led to these misconceptions. “As a woman, you’re underestimated anyway,” Ashleigh, 32, explains. “People are like, ‘Well, there’s these two girls who are dressed in pink and they’re all like happy and smiley and giggly all the time … how are they going to beat the Sikhs, or the cowboys, or even Alex and Jack?’”
