So wouldn’t it be great if you knew what to look out for when checking out potential purchases That’s why we asked more than 14,200 British car owners to tell us about any faults with their vehicles in the past year. To quantify their answers, respondents told us which of 15 areas each fault related to: air-con and cooling system, battery, bodywork, brakes, engine, engine electrics, exhaust, fuel system, gearbox and clutch, interior trim and seats, non-engine electrics, steering, suspension, wheels and tyres, and other.
