Palazzo Molteni is Molteni & C’s most ambitious project yet. It has been almost a decade since the term AirSpace was coined by critic Kyle Chayka in The Verge to describe the homogenised character of our interiors that technology had ushered in. Since the 1990s, Fleury has recontextualised familiar items, rethinking art’s role as a commodity and referencing the male art history canon, including works by Frank Stella, Piet Mondrian and Jean Dubuffet. In 2014, the Perrotin gallery in Paris presented a group show, ‘GIRL’, curated by Pharrell Williams and named after an album he had released a few months prior. Now, the gallery, founded by art dealer Emmanuel Perrotin in 1990, revisits the experience with ‘Femmes’, once again curated by Pharrell and exploring diverse interpretations of femininity.
