If you’re a fan of fast Type 2s, Alex ‘Jesus’ Leiserach’s latest project, a tube-framed ’68 Single Cab pick-up, is going to be right up your alley.
Alex is no stranger to modified Bay Windows but this, his latest creation, is a very different beast to his previous ones. Starting with a decent Bay Window body, Alex had Andy Robinson Race Cars create the full tube chassis, which features double wishbone suspension all round.
The truck now runs a four-speed, sequential, Mendeola gearbox and an air-cooled, 2931cc Pauter Big Block motor. A FuelTech ECU controls the injection system, while a Precision Turbo & Engine 6466 turbocharger ensures there’s plenty of boost on tap. Oh, and it runs on methanol, too.
