Known for her ambitious, large-scale and explosively colourful interventions in public spaces, UK designer Camille Walala sees her work as a platform for disseminating positivity. To date, she’s created full-facade murals, immersive 3D installations, street art, interiors and set design – all instantly recognisable for their fusion of bold colour with geometric patterns.
No matter where it’s situated or who she’s collaborating with, Camille’s work is characterised by a pop-inspired, playful and upbeat feel. This is perfectly illustrated by her own studio’s kitchen: it sports a brilliant variety of bright colours offset by bold black borders and round cabinet knobs, which are cleverly complemented by a 10 x 10cm white tiled backsplash with graphic black grouting.
