One cozy afternoon, after exploring the glorious Winchester Cathedral in the English countryside, my family and I felt tired, a little peckish, and in need of refreshment. The time was three o’clock, just after lunch but not quite dinnertime. At that particular hour, with our specific needs, there was really only one thing that would satisfy: a proper British afternoon tea. So, on the hunt for just the right spot, we walked down the cobblestoned High Street until we reached The Ivy Winchester Brasserie and settled ourselves in their eccentrically decorated tearoom. It is a marvelous feeling, following an afternoon of sightseeing, to rest in a comfortable tufted leather seat under glittering chandeliers, with the prospect of tea around the corner.
