A+E Studios™ is founded to serve A+E Networks® with scripted programming aimed at Lifetime®, A&E® and The HISTORY® Channel. The first series from the studio is “The Returned,” from Carlton Cuse and Raelle Tucker for A&E, revolving around the upheaval caused by the return of people thought to be dead, premiering in 2015. It’s followed by “UnREAL,” a fictional behind-the-scenes look into the antics of a dating competition show, which begins airing on Lifetime, also in 2015. For The HISTORY Channel, the studio produces “Roots” in 2016, based on Alex Haley’s novel, and in 2017, it serves up “SIX,” an action-drama series about Navy SEAL Team Six, and the drama series “Knightfall,” a glimpse inside vicious medieval politics and Knights Templar warfare.
