A NEW, 6.5-LITRE, naturally aspirated V12 engine, designed and built by Cosworth, will be at the heart of Aston Martin’s groundbreaking hypercar, it has been announced. The car, so far known only by its codename of AM-RB 001, will also feature a ‘lightweight hybrid battery system’, which suggests some sort of F1-style KERS-type arrangement.
Red Bull’s Adrian Newey and Aston Martin’s Special Operations chief, David King, are driving the development of the hypercar, which, it is claimed, will redefine the limits of road car performance. Now, with design and engineering work progressing apace, Aston Martin, Red Bull Advanced Technologies and project partner AF Racing have confirmed a number of key technical partners.
