Next year Foxtel will exclusively show new eight-part HBO drama My Brilliant Friend, now filming in Italy. A modern day reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is being produced by 20th Century Fox Television. As yet there’s no series or network deal but the plan is to make the show very different from the original. A spin-off of the popular ABC drama Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries has been green-lit… by Seven. Ms Fisher’s MODern Murder Mysteries centres on Peregrine, niece of Essie Davis’s Phryne Fisher. At the recent Television Critics Association press tour in the US, the timeframe for the premiere of season six of Game of Thrones was unveiled. HBO Programming President Casey Bloys confirmed that the final six episodes will begin in “the first half of 2019.” Production on a GoT spin-off series will begin “shooting sometime in the new year.” No other details about the prequel are known but it’s believed it will be set thousands of years before GoT and will focus on “The Long Night,” a period of Westeros history in which humans first fought the dreaded White Walkers.…
