Sarah Snook will headline the cast of ABC drama The Beautiful Lie, a contemporary re-telling of Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina.
Filming of The Beautiful Lie began in Melbourne in April, with Snook (Sisters of War, Predestination) starring alongside Benedict Samuel (The Walking Dead, Underground: The Julian Assange Story) and Rodger Corser (Party Tricks, Puberty Blues).
The announcement of Snook’s casting follows her role in ABC miniseries The Secret River, which is scheduled to air in coming months.
The Beautiful Lie cast also includes Celia Pacquola, Daniel Henshall, Sophie Lowe, Alexander England, Catherine McClements, Dan Wyllie and Gina Riley.
The six-episode series is about love and all that goes with it: family, commitment, jealousy, envy, obligation and mad passion.
