Preparations for the 2026 men’s football World Cup will come under the spotlight in BBC2’s forthcoming mockumentary Twenty Twenty Six.
In the six-part sequel to Twenty Twelve and W1A, penned and directed again by John Morton, Hugh Bonneville will reprise his role as long-suffering Ian Fletcher, who, after stints working on the London Olympics and as Head of Values at the BBC, is now heading to Miami to become the Director of Integrity on the Twenty Twenty Six Oversight Team.
Once there, Ian must gamely collaborate with an eclectic group of colleagues as they oversee the five-week tournament, which is taking place across the USA, Canada and Mexico.
