Mixing the feel-good factor of Race Across the World with the challenges of Destination X, new generation-gap reality show Worlds Apart teams six youngsters with six senior citizens on a treasure hunt across Japan, with the winners collecting £50,000.
Across five episodes, the duos must decipher clues to reach their destinations, and earn prize coins in challenges, with the least successful pair eliminated each week.
It’s a first opportunity to travel abroad for many of the youngsters, and a potential new lease of life for their older companions.
