Known to love a rugged challenge, Cumbrian ultra legend Sabrina Verjee swapped the wild winds and rain of her native Lakeland peaks for some Caribbean sun, taking on St Lucia’s very own Three Peaks. On March 3, Sabrina ran a combined five hours, 16 minutes to summit and descend Petit Piton (2438ft/743m), Gros Piton (2618ft/798m) and Mount Gimie (3117ft/950m) whilst driving in between. Each offered different challenges, says Sabrina, with Petit Piton being very exposed and involving roped climbs, Gros Piton proving the most runnable, and damp, rooty rainforest ground proving the main competitor on Mount Gimie.
