For a man who began his Porsche career by working on the Leopard military tank, Roland Kussmaul’s rise to become a driving force in Weissach’s competition arm is a story well worth remembering. After graduating from the University of Stuttgart he’d started working for the company in 1969, but six years later another Porsche legend, Peter Falk, would decide his engineering talents could be put to better use. HISTORY AND SPEC Launched alongside the Carrera, the S made its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and went on sale in December of that year.
