BOIS D’ARLON GOLF & RESORT
A new purpose-built golf resort, Bois d’Arlon lies in Wallonia’s far south-west, close to the Luxembourg border and only half an hour from the Grand Duchy’s capital.The resort’s 27 holes of golf are set in almost 550 acres of pristine nature in the grounds of a stately château.
The 6,569-metre, 18-hole Heath Course was designed by Stuart Hallett, its often-narrow fairways traversing open heathland and bordered with heather, broom and young birch and pine trees.
Although the par 3s are not long, they are very tricky, exemplified by the 5th hole’s gaping bunkers and craftily-positioned flora. By contrast, the nine-hole Park Course, which was designed by Jonathon Davison, carves through ancient trees.
