Vintage Roots (0118-932 6566) lists more than 400 organic drinks, of which the star is the “light, tongue-tingling” apple and lemon-edged Il Grillo di Santa Tresa Vino Spumante Brut (£12.75) – a “triumph”.
For a real bargain, I’d suggest Chile’s Santa Emiliana: either the buttery, banana-tinged 2015 Silbador Organic Chardonnay, or the juicy, plum-stashed 2015 Silbador Merlot, both £6.50 (www.thewinesociety.com).
