There’s a real buzz around the British drinks industry, says Susy Atkins in The Daily Telegraph. Never before have we seen so many new brewers, craft distillers, and cider, perry and wine producers starting up. Here’s a selection of the best of Britain in a glass:
Sibling Gin, Cheltenham (£40 for 70cl; Majestic). A thoroughly modern gin (made by four siblings, the eldest just 24), with a smooth, fruity, vanilla-tinged flavour.
Camel Valley Classic Cuvée 2013, Cornwall (£28; M&S). An award-winning, fine vintage sparkler, from one of England’s best wineries. Expect tongue-tingling freshness, a citrus edge and a richer, toasty layer.
Waitrose The Limes Selection English Dry White 2014, Surrey (£8.99). Aromatic, juicy white wine, more affordable than most, with notes of racy lime and green apple fruit.
