With 9,049 acres of lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and hiking trails, including the popular 23-mile Pine Mountain Trail, the F.D. Roosevelt State Park is the largest state park in Georgia. The park is named after the 32nd president of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who came to the area to picnic and swim in naturally warm springs nearby for relief from his health issues.
