Sitting on scribbled furniture
Although this chair, table and lamp might look like a scribble on a blank sheet of paper, it is in fact a collection of real, usable furniture. The artist Jinil Park, who is based in South Korea, crafts tables, chairs, stools and working lamps using steel wires. He uses metals of various thicknesses and hammers them into the shapes that look a bit like doodles on a notepad. The furniture can also support a person’s weight. Park describes his artistic approach as “drawing”, and a cross between furniture and sculpture.
