Napoleon Bonaparte abdicates
The Treaty of Fontainebleau, agreeing the abdication (giving up a position of power) of Napoleon Bonaparte, was signed 211 years ago. Napoleon, a general from Corsica, was emperor of France from 1804 to 1814, and briefly in 1815. He led France’s army to many victories in battle but was defeated by a group of European powers. He created the Napoleonic Code, a set of laws that unified French law and became a model for other countries.…
