When Jason and Anne Watson from Ohio, US, realised pupils at their local primary school were going hungry at home, they wanted to help. So they bought an ice cream van. Travelling in the van, they deliver free, home-cooked meals with the help of their children Lily, Pax and Skye. Jason is a teacher and Anne is a librarian, and they served 70 meals a week over the summer, such as chicken sandwiches and burgers. So far, the family have handed out about 1,500 free lunches from their ice cream van. “Our dream is to possibly open a free café where we invite people to sit and have a hot dinner,” says Anne.
