Empathy Day, which is on 9 June, is about understanding the feelings of others. Maisie Chan, who wrote Danny Chung Does Not Do Maths and the Tiger Warrior series, believes empathy “can help children walk in the shoes of other people”. Chan is working with Empathy Lab, which organises Empathy Day activities such as the Superpower Challenge. She will be part of Empathy Lab’s virtual event on 9 June, talking about how she expresses empathy with her books.
