Aztec treasure trove discovered
A Mexican archaeologist called Sergio Gómez has been sharing new information about some of the 10,000 items he found beneath an ancient pyramid close to Mexico City. The pyramid, called the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, is around 1,800 years old. “It makes you feel close to the people who were here,” Gómez told Reuters news agency.

Drought drains Paraná river
Water in the Paraná river, which runs through Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, is at its lowest level for 77 years. The Paraná is the second-longest river in South America and provides around 40 million people with drinking water. However, a drought (a long period of time with little or no rain) has made the river much smaller than usual.
