Leaders from seven countries met at Carbis Bay in Cornwall, England, from 11 to 13 June. During the meeting, known as G7 UK, they set out how they would like to work together over the next few years.
What is the G7?
Every year, seven of the richest and most powerful countries in the world meet (the name G7 stands for “group of seven”). Leaders come from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and the UK to discuss important issues in what is known as a summit. They are joined by leaders from the European Union (EU), 27 European countries that work and trade together. This year the UK hosted the summit. Prime Minister Boris Johnson chose Carbis Bay as the location.
