Richard Garriott has become the first person to travel to Earth’s “four extremes”. He had already been to the North Pole, South Pole and the Earth’s orbit. On 1 March, he reached the deepest point of its seas – 11,000 metres below the Pacific Ocean.
RARE CLOWN FROGS
Scientists in Manchester, England, have bred endangered variable harlequin toads in captivity for the first time outside their home country. In 2018, researchers visited Panama, in Central America, and returned to the UK with six of the toads. After three years they bred the toads, also known as “clown frogs”, in the UK.
