A DANCE RECORD
Traditional dancers in Tibet set a new record for the greatest number of people in a xianzi dance performance. On 7 August, more than 3,000 people performed the dance, which dates back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Watch the video at tinyurl.com/TWJ-dance
FINDING TREASURE
On 29 July, Fionntan Hughes, 10, from County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, got to try out his birthday present, a new metal detector, for the first time since the end of lockdown. To begin with, his family only found cheap “trinkets”, but the third find was a rusty sword. Antique experts think it could be around 300 years old.
