Five years after the film Maleficent, and 60 years after the 1959 Disney classic Sleeping Beauty, the wicked fairy is back, in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
In Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent puts a curse on Princess Aurora, who falls into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday. However, in the 2014 film Maleficent, we saw a different side to the infamous villain, this time played by Angelina Jolie.
In Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Maleficent is now a quite motherly towards Aurora. Maleficent is not happy, though, when her shape-shifting sidekick, Diaval, tells her that Aurora is to marry Prince Phillip. Aurora and Phillip wish to unite the human kingdom of Ulstead with Maleficent’s magical forest of the Moors. Phillip’s mother, Queen Ingrith, has other ideas, which threaten peace between the two…
