Newspapers are predicting that this winter might be the coldest in the UK for a decade. This might not fill grown-ups with joy – they’ll be thinking of frozen pipes, iced-up cars and ruined gardens – but it definitely has a plus side for young people. There could be lots of snow, which means it’s time to go sledging!
From wooden-framed toboggans to steerable snow scooters, sledges come in all shapes and sizes, but a simple plastic sledge from, say, Halfords or Argos will do the job. Wear warm clothes, find a slope, and off you go.
