On 7 June, the popular BBC children’s TV show, Blue Peter, received the Sandford St Martin Special 40th Anniversary Award for its commitment to increasing its audience’s understanding of belief, faith and ethical issues.
The Sandford St Martin Awards, which took place at London’s Lambeth Palace, are the most prestigious broadcast awards in the UK for TV, radio and online programmes that reflect themes of a religious, spiritual or ethical nature. This year, the Sandford St Martin Trust, which was founded in 1978, reached its 40th anniversary; Blue Peter will also be celebrating a landmark anniversary – its 60th – in 2018.
