Between 31 August and 3 September, more than 1,600 young athletes competed in the 2017 School Games. Held at Loughborough University in Leicestershire, England, competitors were aged between 13 and 18 and came from all around the UK.
Gold, silver and bronze medals were up for grabs in athletics, cycling, fencing, hockey, judo, rugby sevens, swimming, table tennis and volleyball. Girls cricket was also played for the first time. Disabled athletes competed in athletics, cycling, fencing, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.
