We wanted an area of the garden to set aside, where nature could simply be. We laid wildflower turf and, within a month, it was a riot of colour and interest, which has been an absolute haven for bees, butterflies, hoverflies and pollinating wasps. We've also been lucky enough to see frogs, toads, slow worms and the occasional hawk moth.

My garden attracts native birds, such as honeyeaters, parrots and finches, as well as many kinds of butterflies, so I plant to create somewhere for the butterflies to lay their eggs. It's a little bit magical when they start fluttering around.
