When I was a child, I had a pair of jelly shoes that gave me magical abilities. Well, not really, but they meant I could fully submerge my shoes in water or mud without ruining them - which, to me, was magic. I wore them every time we went rock pooling, wild swimming, and even insisted it’d be a good idea to wear them in the bath (my parents talked me out of this one). To my dismay, my feet quickly outgrew these magical shoes. Searching for a replacement with a semblance of similarity, finally, I found them. Some people describe them as rubberised heaven, some say they’re their guilty pleasure, but most know them simply as Crocs.
